Pipe locating

Opening a traffic light cable pit

Where services are non-metallic, such as storm water drains or fibre optic cables, we are able to insert specially designed rod with conductive copper wires and use electro magnetic technology to trace the rod within the pipe, this includes under roads, drains, concrete and more.

Some of the most common underground services we locate with traceable duct rodders are NBN/Fibre optic conduits, sewer pipes, storm water pipes and empty electrical conduits.

Where access is limited or the use or traceable duct rodders is otherwise not suitable we use an industry leading Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to scan and mark underground pipes and other assets.

GPR can be especially useful for locating fire services where there is no trace wire install and for sewer mains that are too large in diameter to effectively use the duct rodder.

For more information of GPR please visit out GPR page.
